Between Puisaye, Berry and Sologne, Châtillon-sur-Loire is a charming little town by the Loire. This dynamic and lively town is open to new businesses and cultural initiatives. It is home to over forty associations offering sports, cultural and leisure activities. Many artists have chosen the town as a place to live and set up their workshops.

Amidst unspoilt countryside, Châtillon-sur-Loire offers all the shops and services you need as well as a great many leisure options. Several themed tours and hiking trails provide an opportunity to discover the town and its historic heritage, the rolling green countryside all around, the banks of the Loire and the Loire lateral canal, the natural site of Ousson Island and the astonishing Mantelot Lock in the Loire. All year round and especially in the summer, you’ll find a range of activities, markets, shows and themed walks on offer.

A highlight of summer 2011 will be the Street Art Festival on 17 July, and the 12th Strange Festival, a rock festival with a party atmosphere on 26 and 27 August. 2011 is also the year of the Agricultural Show, a festive event that only takes place once every four years and will be held on 30 and 31 July. There are many art courses on offer all summer long, where children and adults can learn about mosaics, painting, collages or storytelling.
